The Agra unit chief of former Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s international president Pravin Togadia’s new organisation Hindu Hi Aage, Govind Parashar on Thursday declared a reward of Rs two lakh for anyone who thrashes Bollywood actor Salman Khan in public. He accused Khan of hurting Hindu sentiments by naming a movie made by his production house as Loveratri, which he alleged, was deliberately scheduled for release during the Hindu festival Navratri.
Parashar and other activists of the organisation reached Bhagwan Talkies crossing on Thursday and burnt posters of Salman Khan’s movies. They also raised slogans against the actor and the movie Loveratri. Loveratri is scheduled to be released in October and features his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma.
“The Censor Board should not allow this movie. If allowed to be screened it would invite angry protests by Hindu Hi Aage and the cinema halls screening the movie would be burnt,” Parashar added. He was earlier associated with the Bajrang Dal and had been jailed once for exhibiting firearms in public on the occasion of Dussehra. He had recently launched a three-day signature campaign for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
“The movie is being produced by Salman Khan by distorting ‘Navratri’ – a religious occasion with which sentiments of lakhs of Hindus are attached. We condemn such intention of Salman Khan and seek ban on the movie. If it is permitted to be screened, we would oppose it tooth and nail,” Parashar warned and added, “We won’t tolerate hurting of Hindu sentiments and as city unit president of Hindu Hi Aage I have declared a reward of Rs two lakh for anyone thrashing cine actor Salman Khan in public,” he said.
