My government is your government, our government working to double farmer income by 2022, Prime Minister Modi told farmers while addressing a Krishak Kalyan Samavesh in West Bengal.
My government is your government, our government has been working to double farmer income by 2022, Prime Minister Modi told farmers while addressing a Krishak Kalyan Samavesh (farmer’s welfare rally) in West Midnapore district of West Bengal today.
From providing quality seeds to creating marketing opportunities, our government worked for farmers. It is important to have proper warehouses to save produce, Modi said.
Modi attacked the Mamata Banerjee government for throttling democracy and encouraging syndicates in West Bengal. Lashing out at the “syndicate raj” politics unleashed under Trinamool Congress rule in West Bengal, Modi said the Mamata Banerjee-led regime has turned out to be worse than decades of misrule of the communists.
“Dashkon ke Vaam panthi ne jis haal mein pahuchaya, aaj bangal ki halat us sey bhi bad-tar hoti ja rahi haen (Decades of misrule by communists had left West Bengal in problems, but what is happening after that is worse),” the Prime Minister said.
Those who raised slogans of ‘Ma, Mati, Manush’ have only brought the politics of nepotism and syndicate raj, he maintained.
He said West Bengal state is the land of Vande Mataram and the national anthem – “but the syndicate raj is using this great land for their vote bank”.
Mr Modi castigated the Trinamool dispensation saying nothing actually moves in the state without the wish of the “syndicate”.

“You can’t do anything without the permission of the syndicate in this state. Only the syndicate will decide everything that happens in West Bengal,” he said.
The Prime Minister said this syndicate is involved in extortions and added that “this syndicate is engaged in depriving farmers their benefits”.
This is the Prime Minister’s first visit to the state this year.
Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has also announced a counter-rally on the same grounds, on August 9, and has already put up large cutouts and banners of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee all across the town.
